My name is Adriana Mendes and I love to dance.
I breathe dance, art and culture 24 hours a day.
I’m from Recife, Brazil, and I began to dance at the age of five. Today I’m a dance instructor, entrepreneur and run the biggest dance school for Latin dance in Scandinavia.
I am also the arranger of The Scandinavian Salsa Congress in Gothenburg.
Salseras Dance Company, the only Swedish dance company for girls that dances on the first beat, is lead and choreographed by me. I’ve been dancing ballet, jazz, ballroom dancing, samba and other popular Brazilian rhythms for over 20 years.
I’ve performed pretty much all over the world; in most European countries as well as in the US and in Latin America. 1998 I won the title “Swedish Samba Queen” and became the female European champion in salsa. The most recent award I’ve received was the 2005 Nordic Championship title in salsa.
